Convert handwriting to font

This handwriting to font generator works two ways: snap a photo of a few lines and let AI draw the rest, or print our template for a stroke-for-stroke copy. Use it in Word, Cricut, Canva and Goodnotes.

How to convert handwriting to font

Write two or three sentences on plain white paper with a dark felt-tip or gel pen, ideally including most letters (a pangram like "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" works well). Take a straight, well-lit photo, upload it under "My handwriting" and make the font for 100 credits. The preview is free.

Photo or template: which to pick

A photo is fastest: AI reads your slant, stroke weight and letter shapes and draws every character, including ones missing from your sample. It looks like your writing but is not stroke for stroke. For an exact copy, choose the template: print it, write one character in each box and photograph it from your computer or phone. Accents are built from the marks you write, so each language adds only a few boxes.

Tips for a font that looks like you

Use a pen with an even line, write at your normal size and speed, and avoid lined or squared paper. Shoot from straight above in daylight, without shadows across the page. Dark ink on white paper gives the cleanest outlines.

What it is good for

Personal letters and cards, planners and Goodnotes pages, worksheets in a child's writing, wedding stationery, and Cricut projects that should look handwritten.

What to expect

A photo font captures your letter shapes, slant and stroke weight, with one version of each letter. Joined-up cursive becomes separate letters that sit close together. If one letter does not look like yours, redraw just that letter, or use the template for an exact copy.

Can I make a font from my handwriting for free?

You can make and preview it free: a free account includes 150 credits, enough for your first handwriting font in English, or with Spanish, French or German accents. Downloading needs a plan or a credit pack, from $9.99.

Do I need to print a template?

No. A photo of a few lines of your normal handwriting is enough. Print the template only when you want an exact, stroke-for-stroke copy.

Will it work in Goodnotes and Cricut Design Space?

Yes. Both accept TTF fonts: import it in Goodnotes, or install it on your computer to see it in Design Space.

Does it support cursive?

It copies the style of cursive writing, but each letter is a separate shape, so letters sit side by side rather than joining.
